Sapphire Finishing Mills Pakistan

- LOCATION – Raiwind Manga Road, Raiwind, Distt. Lahore, Pakistan
- SITE EXTENT – 15232.8 m2
DESCRIPTION OF SITE
A flat landing site which was originally used for planting crops. The site works as an ideal location for the Mills due to its situation in the industrial zone of Lahore and corresponding context.
CONCEPT
Sapphire stands as a landmark grey building contrasting with the surrounding and the blue of the artificial water bodies which contains excess filtered water from the treatment plants. The structure is of concrete facades and massive scale. It runs horizontally along the site through two outer buildings .

The length of the buildings can only be felt once one walks along the X axis. The interconnecting factor is through the central office (which also consists of a design museum) and the receiving goods store.
The openings to these buildings are given due to LEED requirements and aesthetics. Due to the harsh weather, the roofs are extended, cantilevering out and of irregular geometric shapes which are supported by large columns of similar style thus limiting the amount of light entering
The Sapphire Group is one of Pakistan’s largest conglomerates from Dairy Farms, Viewing Mills, Power Productions facilities to name a few. This project is their first end to end Stitching, Washing and Finishing facility of the Group.
